Biography

Sheila Cavalette . . . .

  • Was born and raised in Weirton, West Virginia, a small steel mill town, just west of Pittsburgh.  She considers herself blessed to be a part of a big, wonderful Italian family, the second of six children.

  • As a child, she sang at church and local functions, played accordion (although she had begged for a piano!), and wrote, directed and starred in little neighborhood plays – all the while battling a bad case of shyness!

  • Shook her shyness by high school graduation and performed in several Top 40 and country bands.  She also appeared in numerous community theatre productions and television commercials in the Pittsburgh area.

  • Relocated to South Florida, where her husband was based as an airline pilot.  She appeared in several independent films and numerous television commercials, including an AT & T wireless national.  She studied with the incredibly gifted and inspiring acting coach, Gilda Pianelli.

  • Has lived in Los Angeles since 2003, appearing in numerous print, film and television projects.  Most notably, she appeared on the FOX series, ‘House,’ as an anesthesiologist, and on the soap opera, ‘Passions,’ as a maid.  She had a recurring role as a nurse on ‘General Hospital.’  Ironically, Sheila IS a registered nurse who works part-time at a large Los Angeles hospital.

  • In 2005, she wrote, directed, produced and co-starred in Bad Hair Day, a short film.  It screened at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival in 2006. In 2008, she directed, co-produced and co-wrote The Little Samaritan, a short film. This was a church based project which was an official selection at three film festivals in 2009. The Little Samaritan won Best Film in the Community/Social Action category of the International Christian Film Festival in Wales, England.

  • Actively advocates for children, born and unborn.

  • The things that matter most to Sheila are God and family – everything else is just icing on the cake.  Like the Steelers winning a Superbowl –-and chocolate!
